Uh, okay, from the beginning. Hi! Welcome to Eden! And, uh... this is your new home. For now, anyway." Where you were, what you were doing, and whatever your past obligations were will now have to wait. The portal behind you feels odd, causing your hair to stand on end, tiny electrical surges crawling along your skin. Some kind of childish, mechanical laughter is heard, as the portal literally scampers off somewhere else, leaving you behind with so many more questions than answers. The robots continue to stare at you in silent awe for a few more seconds, many with their mouths hanging open, before shrugging like cartoon characters and resuming their conversations with one another, which had been dropped mid-sentence. What just happened? Good question. You don't know. We don't know. And neither do they. They really are that incompetent. |
